I just bought Fallout 1 & 2 and when I got to the downloads page I kinda got scared when I saw the huge number of available patches/fixes. Could someone please tell me exactly what patches/fixes should I apply to Fallout 1 & 2 and in what order I should apply them (both of them are freshly installed with no patches).

Fallout1:
1. Patch v1.2 semofficial (see our downloads page)
2. Avega's (Mynah's) patch v1.3 unofficial.
First one containes updated engine and all fixes from the earlier offical patches. Second deals with some bugs, that were never fixed officialy and must be installed on top of the first.

Fallout2:
1. Seraph's patch v1.04 .
The best amoung existing 'patches' because it's focused on the bug fixing. Not the game 'improvements'.

I heard Killapp's patch was the best Fallout 2 patch:

Killap's patch is under intensive construction, what means inavoidable development-time bugs, and also it has much more questionable changes. If you plan to play the game and not to be a beta tester, I'd recommend use of Seraph's patch. It's a stable release after all. But you are free to make your own choice.

Thanks for your help .

P.S. It seems that Killapp will release his final patch for Fallout 2 really soon (only fixing stuff, not adding stuff after this release), so I'll try this one.

As I know and as I can see Killaps's patch is completely included in Seraph's patch.

Well, Seraph's page doesn't seem to be working. Could you please upload Seraph's patch to the Files section so that anyone who's interested could get it ?

P.S. My Fallout 2 is the UK Edition, version 1.02e, will Seraph's patch work for me ? Should I also apply the children patch for the UK version?

If you want to see childrens, you need to download children patch (from NMA, for example) and apply it to your Fallout2. Then you can apply Seraph's patch. This should work correctly.

PS We will upload Seraph's patch last version to our "Files" section as son as it will be possible.

Hmm.... I'm sorry. Correct statement should be: "Early killap's patch is completely included in Seraph's patch. And most fixes from Seraph's patch are included in the final Killap's patch".

Killap released his "final patch" the other day, looks awesome:

Link: Version A, US version only (includes 1.02 fixes)

Link: Verson B, Non-US or 1.02 installed version only (doesn't include 1.02 fixes)

He is planning on making an addon mod as well, which is much anticipated.

Hey guys, killap here.  Incase you missed the announcement over at No Mutants Allowed, I have a new version of my patch up

See the link below for the full list of fixes and stop over at NMA to see what is new in this specific update.  As always, let me know if you encounter any problems.

Oh, and I saw that there was some uncertainty about my patch and its changes. My goal is for strictly bug fixes only.  There are a few small additions that are not necessary bug fixes, but theses only include some minor fillers for dialogues that lead nowhere as well as the addition of the long missed Duton "bug part" quest.  Even that did not require much change and was mostly just some dialogue additions.  If you guys are uncertain about anything, please let me know.
